How We Review

Every review on Darts Aim follows the same process, so a page on one product is put together the same way as any other. This page explains that process and what you are actually looking at when you read one of our reviews.

Where Our Information Comes From

Unless a review says otherwise, we have not thrown the darts ourselves. Our reviews are a structured synthesis of manufacturer specifications, owner reviews across multiple retailers, and community feedback from forums and social platforms. We treat the manufacturer as the authority for specifications, and we cross-check every factual claim against at least two independent sources. If we cannot verify something, we leave it out rather than guess.

Prices are checked at a minimum of two retailers before publishing. Because prices change frequently, we keep specific figures out of the review text itself and note the price range separately, where it can be updated easily. When a review is materially revised, we show an updated date at the top of the page.

What You'll See on a Review Page

We do not publish a star rating of our own. Since we have not thrown every dart or thrown at every board ourselves, putting our own mark out of five on a product would imply a hands-on verdict we cannot honestly back up. Instead, each review is built from a few consistent parts.

The At a Glance box at the top is our own plain-English summary of what the product is, how it has generally been received, and the main trade-off to weigh up. It is a synthesis in words, not a score.

The reception figure further down (an average score out of 5 with a sample size) is always a real, sourced number, usually from buyer reviews on a major retailer or the manufacturer's own site. When it comes from the manufacturer's own site we say so explicitly, because manufacturer-hosted reviews skew positive and we do not want that figure mistaken for an independent one.

The pros and cons are a synthesis of what owners and independent reviewers consistently praise or criticise, not our own graded verdict. Where a spec, such as a barrel's grip level, carries the manufacturer's own descriptive rating (for example, a scale from smooth to aggressive), we report that figure alongside what owners actually say about it in practice, and flag it clearly if the two disagree.

Quotes from owners and reviewers are verbatim. We attribute them generically, such as "a verified buyer" or "an independent darts reviewer", rather than naming or linking the specific site, and we never quote the same source twice on one page.

Reviews contain affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. This funds the site and keeps it ad-free. It does not influence what we publish: the pros, cons, and verdicts are written before any link is added, and we publish criticism of products we link to.
